Renée Caisse
is an 19-year-old photographer, painter, and writer currently based in Portland, Maine and central Massachusetts. Caisse is in the process of getting her BFA in photography and a minor in writing at Maine College of Art & Design (MECA&D). Her work has a primary focus on the exploration of the self and how portraiture, color, body language, and symbolism can influence the emotion of a piece. Although Caisse is majoring in photography, her love for painting has not diminished. To her, painting and photography are two sides of the same coin, and both mediums have helped her become the artist she is today. Her work is for sale in person or on her online shop. Every first Friday of each month during the academic year, Caisse has a table on Congress Street in Portland selling her prints, knitted items, and the occasional original painting. And you can find Caisse’s photography portfolio here.
